Ani DiFranco announces June EU / UK tour dates as she extends “Unprecedented Sh!t: The Tour”

Today, singer / songwriter / feminist / author Ani DiFranco has announced that she will be extending her “Unprecedented Sh!t: The Tour” to include a run of EU / UK headline live dates for June 2025. The tour, which begins in the US in January, is in support of her 23rd album “Unprecedented Sh!t”, which came out early this year to widespread acclaim.

The newly announced EU / UK tour dates mark her first British live dates in 8 years and begin on 11th June with a special headline show at London’s Royal Albert Hall with special guest; singer-songwriter, musician, and playwright Anaïs Mitchell. DiFranco recently completed a 5-month run as “Persephone” in Mitchell’s Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway production Hadestown (the album was originally released on Righteous Babe Records).

Speaking on the tour announcement, DiFranco says: “What’s the upside of doom, gloom, angst and anguish? A sharply increased sense of motivation to get out there and make some noise. Lookout calm before the storm! We’re coming for you.”

Unprecedented Sh!t was released to rave reviews in May on DiFranco’s label, Righteous Babe Records. The album title not only reflects how dramatically different this 11-track album is from Ani’s previous work, but also serves as a commentary on the current political and social climate. Joined by producer BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Low), on Unprecedented Sh!t DiFranco experiments with different sonic elements, leading to a sound that feels both authentic and polished. Lyrically, DiFranco powerfully highlights reproductive rights (“Baby Roe”), patriarchal oppression (“You Forgot to Speak”), climate change (“Spinning Room”) and other urgent global challenges. Listen to Unprecedented Sh!t via DSPs HERE.

Throughout September and October, the Ani DiFranco documentary 1-800-ON-HER-OWN screened in America’s swing states to spark conversation around voting and reproductive freedom in partnership with Emily’s List, Headcount and regional grassroots organizations. DiFranco is also a poet and author. She released a collection of poems and paintings titled Verses in 2007. Her memoir No Walls and the Recurring Dream was a New York Times Top 10 best seller in 2019, and her children’s books The Knowing and Show Up and Vote are out now.
