Comedians You Need to Know in 2025: famous and upcoming ones.

Hello, shows watchers and people who want to laugh nowdays (in this terrible world). We all want to know who to follow and check out for a good show and some smiling. I mean those kardashians are depressing right? Kylie is boring and Kimk is drame, we need fun people in our lives.

Shall we shed light on the fierce and hilarious trending comedian for nearly two decades: No no no, no hot take this time; let’s go ahead and talk about the current jesters that make or break our feeds. Pour yourself the drink of your desire and prepare for this to be very juicy.

The Social Media Monarchy: Kevin Hart & Ellen DeGeneres

Now, let me clarify, all I’m saying that the number of followers does not equate one’s talent (let me brake it to you gently, this is not the case). This pair of personalities may just be leading in the race as they are almost pulling down the World Wide Web with at least 260 million followers each. Not a small feat indeed, which is like making the entire population of Indonesia laugh at their jokes. Or at least contributing to the consumption of content through double tapping while seated on the toilet.

Kevin Hart: Hustle or Hassle?

It won’t be long before Kevin Hart engages in two more ventures – the man is busier than an ant with a record to defend. This guy has nearly 180 million followers on Instagram alone, movies, standup, tequila brands, workout apps… I’m exhausted just typing this. By 2025, he has achieved to slot three Netflix specials, two biggest movies and a self-help book into his program already.

As much as one can never doubt that Kevin has got the drive, one has to look at him and think if he has not traded quality for quantity. His latest special “Short Fuse” made me laugh, of course But again, it is too similar to what we have seen before. Can the public take it anymore in terms of jokes he made regarding height and his family issues? That being the case, his new improvised podcast called ‘Hart to Heart’ reveals a side of him that his audience has not previously witnessed.

Ellen: The Comeback Nobody Asked For?

Well, well, well. And now, she is trying to come out of the wilderness with one of the following gimmicks. After a series of controversies, and being forced into her show’s grave after it came out that she was unknowingly hosting a toxic workplace, Ellen is trying comedy again, this time through the stage show “Back to Funny.”

In that regard, I saw her perform live late last month at a club in Chicago (yes, for this – and many other things – I live to chronicle my experiences for the lovers) , and though she’s singing the truth, she is singing the song that raised the question in the first place. The comedic splash that she waded into with her joke about “being canceled” really had bite to it, mirroring some modest insight. But the remaining hour felt like listening to someone’s efforts to convince saying “I am nice!”

The Podcast Kings: Joe Rogan & Russell Brand

If your ears haven’t been blessed (or assaulted, depending on your perspective) by these two, are you even living in 2025?

Joe Rogan: The Controversial Conversation Machine

Over 46 million fans and recently, Joe Rogan holds the record of the most downloaded podcast episode ever made; he is a true dude man of comedy. This year he released a standup special titled “Triggered Reality” in January and although it has some high points it is quite apparent that he works best in talking rather than writing gags.

Lauded or despised by many (but it is pretty hard to find a person who has no opinion about Rogan at all), he certainly left his mark on comedy. His podcast still invites both professionals such as scientists and quack experts, including conspiracy theorists, most of the time. The latest three hours when he discussed with that physicist about simulation theory really made me to doubt the reality of the world while folding clothes – a 2025 scenario.

Russell Brand: The Spiritual Provocateur

As for characters as such, Russell Brand and over 24 million of his subscribers proceed with magic carpet adventures down the rabbit hole involving spirituality, politics, and sometimes, comedy. His current show is “Awakened”, it is an stand-up performance which also features some sort of cosmic preaching.

And I heard about his show in Austin, Texas and I have no idea whether I have witnessed comedy show or some sort of faith-based service. Brand’s between reminiscences about his reckless life, he shouted fairly compelling speeches about corporate media and the expansion of consciousness that provoked the split reaction from the audience: fifty percent of them lifted their hands as in affirmation and the other fifty percent looked at their watches.

The Rising Stars: Matt Rife & Trevor Noah

While the old guard clings to their thrones, these two are coming for the crown.

Matt Rife: TikTok’s Comedy Heartthrob

If you’ve spent more than five minutes on TikTok, you’ve seen Matt Rife’s perfectly stand-up comedian whose primary purpose is to guys lines of dialogues in front of loud people. As witness to his 18 million plus TikTok followers who are still counting, he came out with comedy clips that elicits swoon of teenage girls and provoking jealousy among wannabe stand-up comedians.

The best evidence of this was his Netflix platform where he did Natural Selection in which he proved that the comedian he was onyoutube was still in the making. It is there, however his subject matter remains relatively crude, including most of his material about dating and sexual conquests typical for a 2010 stand-up comedian.

Trevor Noah: The Global Perspective

Since parting ways with The Daily Show, Trevor Noah has moved rather to become a world’s comedian. With 25+ million followers across platforms and his multilingual “What If?” traveling the globe and performing from Tokyo to São Paulo, Noah is an international comedian that the world’s comedy circuits need in 2025.

His latest stand-up special from Netflix, “Impossible Standards”, is no different as it combines both political comedy targeted at America and anecdotes from his everyday life. However, unlike most comics that are only relevant to the American culture war, Noah’s jokes about world politics, language, and cultural languages overshadow the globalization of the world.

The Wildcards: Conan O’Brien & Daniel Tosh

These two couldn’t be more different, yet both maintain massive followings in 2025 while breaking all the rules.

Conan O’Brien: The Podcast Renaissance Man

Conan has been able to transform from a late-night host to the podcast emperor from his millions of followers on the online site, tweeter. “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” is still a perfect example of his exceptional ability to ad-lib and explore his guest’s life and work.

His live performances which include standup comedy, storytelling and a musical accompaniment have attracted buyers within minutes of going on sale. In fact, Jagger is somehow becoming even more unusual and daring in his compositions at the age of 62 instead of just enjoying his pensioner’s life. The ultimate showman, his recent HBO special Professionally Silly was proof of that as Fletcher indulged in his subtlety silly comedy.

Daniel Tosh: The Deliberate Recluse

Arguably, the most extraordinary comedian in comedy of 2025 would be Daniel Tosh. Yet despite having over 23 million people who follow him on Twitter, Tosh has pretty much not followed any of the guidelines associated with social media.

After ‘Tosh.0’s conclusion in 2023, he disappeared from the public limelight but occasionally came out for comedy specials tours which he advertised sparingly. His shows however, are sold out in the very first instance, making him almost an entity of legend in the ever crowded world of media.

The Final Laugh

Looking at the comedy market in 2025 In making this point, it remains evident that the success scenario of the future will be much less linear . From podcasting empires to minute-long skits in Tik Tok, from performing stand-up shows around the world to deliberately avoiding the limelight, these comedians are of different styles for making people laugh in postmodern world.

Who’s actually funny? That’s for you to decide. Comedy is still wonderfully personal even when some formulae are being inculcated to us regarding what is supposed to be funny.

Who’s missing from this list? Feel free to leave your comments on this article in the comments section below. As for the last statement about the show, and if any of these comedians are reading this – I’m sorry and you’re welcome. I dare you to call me to argue it out. My direct messages are always available for the taking, but your last special I don’t know whether I will allow on my timeline.

Until next time, keep laughing inappropriately at serious moments and blaming it on these folks.

Your faithful comedy critic,

ArtistHeat
